Welcome to Green Leaf Lounge! We are a small business based in Mawson Lakes, SA. We make and sell kokedama balls, and also a small range of pots and planters, macramé and plants from our home based studio/shopfront. We make kokedama to order and also keep a range in stock available for you to choose from. We make our kokes from both real indoor plants and preserved blooms and foliage.
What is a kokedama you ask? Kokedama is a type of Japanese garden art, closely related to bonsai. The word kokedama translates from Japanese to mean "moss ball" - and it is literally that! It is a live plant with its roots encased in a ball of soil, covered in coconut fibre and moss and wrapped in jute twine.
If you wish to purchase a kokedama from us, you can get in touch with us here to find out what we currently have available, place an order, or make a time to come by the studio and have a browse. We have made the decision to take the purchasing of Kokes off of the website as due to the high turnover of balls, and plants often varying in appearance, size and availability, keeping the site accurate and up to date was proving to be quite an overwhelmingly difficult task for this one woman show! We are however very fast at responding to your queries and are most often available over 7 days to meet your needs. Delivery and postage is still of course an option, and can be discussed when you contact us. Payment can still be made online - we can email you an invoice for payment, or take payment by credit card over the phone so you don't have to come to us in person if its not convenient for you :) Thanks for understanding and working with us on this one - we just feel this will make for a much better experience for us AND for you!
We also run workshops in both making kokedama (using either real plants or dried/preserved blooms & foliage) and macramé - which can be held at either our home based studio or we can come to you! Workshops are a fantastic way to celebrate a birthday, hens day, team building event - or just a fun activity to do while catching up with family and friends. More details on our workshops here
We regularly have stalls at various markets around Adelaide - you can find out where we will be next here
And lets not forget our rewrapping service. Do you have a Kokedama that needs a freshen up? We do rewraps too! Even if you didn't purchase the koke from us initially, we will happily restring it for you. Get in touch with us for a quote or for more information. If only it was a fast as it is in the below video in real time!
